Ingredients
- 1 ½ pounds Asparagus
- 4 ½ cloves of Garlic
- 1 ½ teaspoons Lemon (Zest)
- 1 ½ Kosher Salt
- 1 ½ tablespoons Lemon (Juice)
- 1 ½ Black Pepper
- 1 ½ Red Pepper Flakes
- 3 tablespoons Olive Oil
Directions
- Mise en place: If the asparagus spears are thick, cut them in half crosswise to ensure even cooking.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté, stirring constantly, until it becomes fragrant and just begins to turn golden, approximately 45 seconds. Be careful not to burn the garlic.
- Introduce the prepared asparagus to the skillet along with the salt and black pepper. Toss everything together to coat the asparagus evenly. Cook, stirring frequently, until the asparagus turns a vibrant green and reaches a tender-crisp texture, which should take about 5 to 7 minutes, depending on the thickness of the spears.
- Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Taste the dish and add more salt if necessary. Serve immediately.
