Garlic Butter Rice with Peas

A simple and flavorful side dish featuring fluffy white rice infused with garlic butter and studded with vibrant green peas.

25 mins 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups Low Sodium Chicken Broth
  • 4 Garlic
  • 3 tablespoons Parsley (Fresh)
  • 1 ½ cups Long Grain White Rice
  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 ½ Kosher Salt
  • 1 ½ cups Peas (Frozen)
  • 1 ½ Black Pepper

Directions

  1. Mise en place: Mince the garlic. Chop the fresh parsley.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until aromatic.
  3. Add the long-grain white rice to the saucepan and toast for 1 minute, ensuring each grain is coated in butter.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and kosher salt. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Evenly distribute the frozen peas over the rice. Cover the saucepan again and cook for an additional 3 to 4 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the peas are heated through.
  6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow it to stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Fluff the rice with a fork, season with black pepper, and stir in the chopped fresh parsley before serving warm.
