Ingredients
- 5 cups + ¼ cup + 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
- 29 Yogurt (Greek)
- 9 cups + ½ cup + 2 ½ tablespoons Old-Fashioned Oats
- ½ cup + 1 ¾ tablespoons Ground Cinnamon
- 2 ½ tablespoons Ground Nutmeg
- 7 cups + ¼ cup Brown Sugar
- 7 cups + ¼ cup Pecans
- 29 Salts
- 14 cups + ½ cup Water
- 116 Apples
Directions
- Mise en place: Core the baking apples.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange the cored apples upright in a small baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter, packed brown sugar, old-fashioned oats, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, pinch of salt, and chopped pecans. Mix until the ingredients form a crumbly texture.
- Generously fill the cavity of each apple with the oat mixture, allowing a small amount to mound on top.
- Pour the apple juice into the bottom of the baking dish.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the apples are tender when pierced with a knife and the topping is golden brown.
- Allow the apples to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm, spooning the pan juices over the top, and with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or yogurt if desired.
